Sometimes when I read articles like this I get very nostalgic for my days working in good restaurants. I miss the food, teamwork, excitement and overall craziness that makes a restaurant come alive. Then I remember the long hours, hectic schedule and never seeing my friends till at least 1:00 a.m. I’m still super thankful that I was able to experience it all in my early twenties (I had some stamina back then) and make excellent friends and even better memories.

Trying out Matcha for the first time, next time I should probably use proper bowls but the taste is lovely anyhow.
I’m still always impressed to see his work and the excitement in his voice when he talks about projects.

I walked across this bridge yesterday for the first time. I’m somewhat afraid of heights but I managed to stay calm enough to enjoy the view and snap some pictures. What a beautiful afternoon.
So I received an offer for a new job today…I don’t know what I should do, I love my present job but this could be a great opportunity. I’m making chicken vindaloo tonight, that might help.

I’ve decided to stop being a baby and whining about not living in France, for now, and embracing life in New York. Finding a good source for inexpensive duck breast has really helped, and thanks to Key Food in Alphabet City, I can get my weekly fix.
Tonight, I may try my hand at seared five-spice duck breast. Wish me luck.
